The McDonald Family Estate proudly presents our first vintage:a 2007 Meritage red wine
Our vineyard graces our private home estate in California's Lodi Appellation

Our Meritage is aptly named COR SANARE, which is Latin for "to heal the heart"...
not only are we, the owners, both doctors specializing in the heart (Jerry is a cardiothoracic surgeon and Susan is a cardiac anesthesiologist), but proceeds for each bottle sold will go to the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign

Our Meritage is a red wine blend of the five noble varietals of a Bordeaux-style wine.  The 2007 vintage is a blend of 50% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, and 5% each of petit verdot, malbec and cabernet franc.  The grapes were hand-harvested from our vineyard.  The wine was aged for nearly two years in oak barrels, including over one-third in new French oak barrels, and additional 8 months in the bottle before release.  The wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for years.

Our 2007 Meritage wins a Silver Medal at the 30th Annual San Fransisco International Wine Competition!
